Barbara Parker
July 30, 1936 to July 26, 2008
Unit 172 lost a great contributor to duplicate bridge. Barbara Parker died in Dallas on July 26. She was the former owner of Alamo Bridge Club for over 10 years. She served on the Board of Directors for Unit 172, and was the director for the 0-99ers at regional and national tournaments. She was the recipient of outstanding service awards from the Unit 172 and District 16. Many of our present day members are graduates of her teaching and encouragement. She was a gracious lady, and was well liked and respected by all. Due to declining health in the past year, she moved to Dallas to be with her family. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Robert, and daughter Cynthia, and five grandchildren. She will be missed by all bridge players in the San Antonio area. [Roger Boeka]
