NYDIA SNOOK
Nydia B. Snook peacefully went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2008 following a 25 year battle with cancer. Born January 14, 1921 in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, she lived many years in Latin America and traveled extensively all over the world with John, her husband of 54 years, who preceded her in death. John and Nydia moved to San Antonio in 1984 and spent many happy years making a life here together. Nydia loved to cook and was the heart of the family, gathering all to her table to enjoy each other's company during many wonderful meals. She enjoyed doing so many different types of needlework and she was in great demand as a bridge player, playing the game frequently after retiring from SAS Shoemakers after 23 years of service. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Nydia is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hausner of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Liliana Bombino of Miami, Florida; grandson, Jonathan Hausner and wife Lynn of Newton, Massachusetts; granddaughter, Amy Koepp and husband James of Humble, Texas; great granddaughters, Ava Hausner and Hannah Koepp; niece, Lily Bertran and husband Ruben of Miami, Florida; and great niece, Vanessa Bertran of Miami, Florida. The family would like to thank Christus VNA Hospice for the wonderful care they provided in her last days.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nydia's favorite charity, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-0050.
