Bridge Student

Will Begin:

Monday, July 30, 2007

At 7:00 P.M.

A series of 9 Lessons from the book

“Play of the Hand in the 21st Century”

Will be presented

This is the second in a series of bridge books for beginning and advancing players written by Audrey Grant for ACBL and recently updated by Bette Starzec. It is followed by three additional text books which focus on introducing students to all aspects of the game of bridge. The ACBL Bridge series texts have been updated to reflect modern bidding theory and to complement the Learn to Play Bridge programs available free at ACBL.org.

“Play of the Hand,” is a 9-week course focusing on concepts for declarer play along with bidding review and guidelines for defense in each lesson. The 9th lesson will concentrate on the convention: Jacoby Transfers. Other conventions that will be introduced are: Stayman, Strong 2 club, Slam Bidding, and Preempts, including weak two-bids. The students must have a fundamental knowledge of bidding to take this class. This class will include students with varying levels of experience.
