Clay McFarland II (1934-2001)
Clay McFarland II passed away on May 13, 2001. He was born on September 1, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas.
He graduated from Alamo Heights High School, and Texas A&M University, where he played the baritone in the Aggie Band. After serving in the United Stats Army, he returned to the University of Texas at Austin for graduate school, and earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. He worked in computer software design, including the computer for the Voyager spacecraft. He worked in California and New York before returning to Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay McFarland and Elizabeth Baldwin McFarland.
His is survived by daughter, Melinda Baldwin McFarland, M.D., and her husband, Reid Hartson, M.D., of San Antonio; son, Christopher Clay McFarland, of Austin; brother, Kenneth Baldwin McFarland and wife, Shannon, of San Antonio; and granddaughters, Elizabeth Reid Hartson and Victoria Cook Hartson of San Antonio.
