Margery Reynolds Shimmon

Margery Reynolds Shimmon, age 83, of Lakeway, Texas, died on February 12, 2004, after a sudden stroke.
She was born on October 3, 1920, to Frederick and Dorothy Hook of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and immigrated to California in 1947.
Margie traveled all over the world, having lived in Venezuela, Texas, Tunisia, England, Holland, and Italy. She had a very successful real estate business in London. Throughout her life she was an active volunteer, serving in newcomer's organizations in every place that she lived. Since retiring to Lakeway in 1988, she served on the Women's Club board, Chairperson of a Daughters of Seton Christmas Fund Raising event, and as a volunteer for the City of Lakeway at City Hall and the Activity Center.
Margie was a gourmet cook and a consummate entertainer. She was a Life Master in Bridge, loved the game, and was a regular participant in local and regional events.
Margie is survived by her loving family; her husband Don; daughter, Sally Buckovinsky; son Richard Simonite and his wife Trish of San Antonio; grandson, Peter and daughter-in-law, Julie; grandson, Nicholas; grand-daughter, Francesca; sister, Marian; and sister-in-law, Ollie Hook, both of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Several nieces and nephews and their children also survive her.
A memorial service will be held at the Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Boulevard, Lakeway, on Wednesday, February 18, 2004, 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at their home.
