Board Members Present: Chris Hull, Mary Anne Laier, Kathy McCabe, Diana Rogers, Jenny Stocker, Jim Wueste Unit Chairmen Present: Larry Davis, Kevin Perkins Chris Hull, President called the meeting to order at 4:20 at Furr's Family Cafeteria. She reported that Gene Cavanaugh is out of ICU, off the respirator, and progressing nicely. A get-well card was signed by all the board members present. It was voted by all present that Mary Ann Laier would take over as VP until Gene is well enough to resume duties.
There was a discussion of how to pay Kevin Perkins and George Watkins for the NLM Tournament expenses when Nancy Gordy, Treasurer is out of town. Larry Davis suggested that perhaps the president and the treasurer would have payment checks for such occurances as these.
There are still some changes in the schedule of the weekly games for Austin, which is summarized in the attachment.
There was a misunderstanding at the ACBL that Unit #207, not just the Bridge Studio location, was closing. Chris Hull assured them we were still up and running and also got information about the Mentor Program which she will report on at our next meeting.
At the Lone Arranger game on Sunday, there will be an award ceremony for new life masters and the Ace of Clubs and McKinney Awards, and recognition of the unit's new Life Masters. Chris and Mary Anne will phone the people involved so that they can be there for the commendation.
Chris mentioned that we should be nominating someone from our unit for the National Goodwill Committee "who exhibited unselfish dedication to the causes of good conduct, worthy participation, and ethical behavior, and who has made bridge contributions above and beyond the call of duty." We should come with our suggestions to the next meeting.
Some compliments and gripes have been forthcoming. Some people mentioned that they don't like sit-outs and want to play more than 22 boards. Kevin mentioned that he felt that it was better to have a sit-out than to send someone away. Whatever, the case, it is agreed that it was the director's call.
Larry Davis filled us in on what was happening with the tournament schedule.

Chris mentioned that there was a late charge of $10 plus the monthly bill of $69 for storage of the units' belongings and will attend to that.
Next meeting will be May 8, at a place chosen by Jenny Stocker.
