District 16, Unit 207	Secretary's Report	March 12, 2003

Board Members Present:

Gene Cavanaugh, Chris Hull, Mary Anne Laier, Bobbie Mayer, Mark McAllister, Kathy McCabe, Diana Rogers, Jenny Stocker, Clint Schuhmacher, Phyllis Tate, and Jim Wueste.

Chairman Present:

Kevin Perkins.

President Chris Hull called the meeting to order at 3:15 at the Z-Tejas Restaurant and welcomed the new board members, Bobbie Mayer and Phyllis Tate and returning members, Mark McAllister and Clint Schuhmacher. She then called for nominations from the floor for the position of President. Mary Anne Laier and Mark McAllister were nominated but Mark declined. The vote for Mary Anne was unanimous. Chris thanked the board for all their cooperation, fellowship and work during her year's tenure as President. Jenny Stocker was voted to be the next Vice-President. Diana Rogers and Clint Schuhmacher will continue in their respective positions as Secretary and Treasurer.

Rosemary Kelley has suggested April 12 as the day to meet at her house and work on the boards, bidding boxes etc. However, that is the date of the Lone Arranger and will have to be scheduled for another day. Rosemary suggested that the unit give the side-winder bidding boxes to Larry. The board agreed by unanimous vote. Mary Anne suggested that we give Rosemary the authority to go through our storage unit to sort and weed out the supplies and to purchase anything that is necessary for the unit.

Since Gene Cavanaugh is going off the board, there was a question regarding who would write the agenda and be the Business Manager. It was decided that Jenny would do the former and Clint, the latter.

Secretary's Report:

The minutes for February's Annual Meeting were approved.

Treasurer's Report:

Clint passed out copies of the report and also the tax return statement. Clint has suggested closing the Schwab account and opening Vanguard. Mary Anne suggested that in the future, Jenny as VP and Kevin would be the required signatures on the Vanguard account and Clint and Mary Anne on the checking account.

In addition, we now have a new PO Box 28338 at the Far West Substation and Clint and Larry Davis will have the keys. The vote to accept Clint's suggestions was unanimous.

September Tournament:

Chris Hull and Mark McAllister graciously accepted the chairmanship of this event.

Unit Electronic Contact:

Jim Wueste graciously volunteered for this position.

GNT Teams:

Kevin reported that two C teams and four B teams qualified for this event. Except for the food which cost the unit $150, the unit broke even.

Unit 207 Newsletter:

It was decided that the VP (Jenny) would supervise this report for Larry Davis.

Dell Center Christmas Party:

Kathy McCabe discussed making this party on December 13 extra special for the unit members.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:25.
