DISTRICT 16 UNIT 207 SECRETARY’S REPORT MARCH 14, 2007

Board Members Present: Linda Anthony, Charlie Aufill, Joe Black, Pat Long, Marc McAllister, Diana Rogers and Phyllis Tate.

Board Members Absent: Mary Anne Laier and Leonard McCormick.

Chairmen Present: Robert Donathan.

Hal DeShong, the leaving VP opened the meeting at 3 pm welcoming the new board member present, Charlie Aufill. Mary Anne Laier and Leonard McCormick, the other two newly elected board members were not present. A quorum was established.

Secretary’s Report: The Minutes were accepted unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: Robert reported that on a new contract with the owners of the storage

unit getting one month free for a total of $1942.80.

MOTION: The board voted to accept this new contract unanimously.

MOTION: The board accepted this month’s report unanimously.

Membership Chairman: Mark said we have 741 members: 4 people were reinstated, and transferred into the unit, 10 transferred out for a net gain of 5 members.

Business Manager: Joe informed the board that 3 dates of unit events needed changing because of unforeseeable conflicts:

Lone Arranger : Changed from April 14 to April 21.

Pairs/Swiss: Changed from April 28 to May 19.

Ice Cream Social: Changed from May 26 to June 2.

MOTION: There was a motion to change these dates as stated above which was

approved unanimously.

September Sectional:

Pat Long graciously agreed to chair this tournament.

January Sectional:

Mark McAllister and Joe Black graciously agreed to chair this tournament.

MOTION: A motion to have Pat Long fulfill Mildred Breed’s term

of office which runs until February, 2008 was approved unanimously.

MOTION: A motion to have Mary Anne Laier serve out the duration of her term

to equal seven and one-half years as a board member was unanimously approved.

By-Laws: The board decided that the by-laws which haven’t been revised since 1998 needed attention including the job descriptions of the various chairmen positions. Linda Anthony and Charlie Aufill will head up that committee and report to the board.

Hospitality Chairman: Phyllis Tate went over the list of board members who will supply snacks for the various unit events.

New Bridge Club: The Pat Long Bridge Club will open this month.
