SECRETARY’S REPORT

MARCH 12, 2008

Board Members Present: Mark McAllister, Leonard McCormick, Joe Black, Phyllis Tate, Harriette Bowles, Mark Miller, Robert Donathan, Charlie Aufill

Meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by out-going Unit President, Mary Ann Laier. She conducted the election of Mark McAllister as the new President of the Board. She turned the rest of the meeting over to Mark.

The board conducted elections for the following positions:

Hospitality Harriette Bowles

Intermediate/Novice Coordinator Charlie Aufill

Publicity Linda Anthony

Supplies Jim Wueste

Contractor Larry Davis

A discussion ensued regarding the updated Membership Directories. Mark McAllister will post a note on the Internet that anyone can request a copy of the directory from him to be e-mailed to them.. If people do not have access to the Internet, Mark will provide some printed copies.

Robert Donathan and Mark Miller will co-chair the September Section Tournament at the Ben Hur Shriner facility.

Procedural packets will be made available to our new board members.

The Mentor/Mentee program was briefly discussed. The consensus seems to be that it is a worthwhile program that should be continued. The board will continue to study ways in which to see that it is viable and successful.
