DISTRICT 16, UNIT 207
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The meeting was called to order at
Members Present: Mark McAllister, Larry Davis, Phyllis Tate, Harriette Bowles, Mark Miller, Joe Black, Charlie Aufill, Leonard McCormick, Robert Donathan
Minutes from last meeting were approved as circulated.
Treasurer’s Report included preliminary data from Regional Tournament. It is anticipated that the Unit will show a profit of approximately $12,000 after all bills have been paid. This net profit is realized after deducting the cost of new boards and tables that were purchased prior to the tournament. The tournament was extremely successful due to the hard work of all that helped. The total table count was 1409.
The Membership Chairman reported that the Unit membership has reached 830, an increase of 14% over the total at the end of May.
The Business Manager’s report included upcoming Unit events as follows:
1. July 26-27 Non-Life Master Tournament
2. August 16 “8 is Enough” team game
3. October 11 NAP Finals (will include a meal between sessions)

The Board discussed and agreed that the caterer for the Unit Christmas Party must have a Temporary Food Enterprise Permit issued by the City of Austin.
Mark McAllister reviewed some highlights from the District meeting that was held during the recent tournament:
1. The District has $20,000 available to be given to a worthy charity. Guidelines are being developed for the choice of charities.

3. The District is attempting to cut the costs on the publication of the Scorecard. The District reported that 24 will become the typical number of boards played at tournament events.
4. The plan is to send paper copies of the Scorecard only to those who request it. Others can read it on the web. Everyone will get the chance to choose in the next few months.
The date for the January, 2010 Sectional Tournament will be January 7-10.
The Board authorized a committee to dispose of materials currently in the warehouse that are not being used.
