Mentor / Adopt a 0-99er Player Program

The purpose of this program is to mentor aspiring new bridge players and give them a window into the expansive sophistication of bridge and to improve their bridge skills.
Advantages to club owners & managers: Increased attendance and small cost to implement and continue the program.
Guidelines:
- All mentors must be current members of ACBL.
- This program is open only to new partnerships.
- Mentors can not be related to mentees.
- The novice's masterpoints will not exceed 99 as of the September 2002 listing.
- This program is not applicable at sectionals, regionals or unit sponsored tournaments.
- Both the novice and the mentor may aid in the selection of the partnership. (The club manager can also aid the selection.)
- Only those players who have properly registered for the program are entitled to have Unit 207 pay $3.00 of the Mentor entry fee. The other $1.00 will be absorbed by the club owner or manager.
Club Responsibilities
- Accept those registered for the program and aid in the selection of partnerships.
- Validation of partnerships for purposes of playing at more that one participating club can be checked with Kathy McCabe or Mark McAllister.
- All participating clubs will receive from Unit 207 a reimbursement of $3.00 of the $4.00 game fee. Reimbursement forms will be provided by Kathy McCabe and must be returned to her for validation at the end of each month. She will then forward these forms to Unit 207 for payment.
The Club owner/manager's signature upon this paper constitutes an agreement to be a part of this program. A copy of the agreement is to be kept on file with Kathy McCabe for verification purposes. Welcome to the program!
